Good Shepherd Calgary officially launched as an ANiC church plant with Bishop Stephen Leung officiating at a Holy Communion service on February 9 (Saturday) which was held at Our Lady of Peace Maronite Catholic Parish of Calgary (504 – 30th Ave, NW Calgary). 150 people joined the dedication service at which three adults were baptized – a real encouragement to this new Cantonese congregation.
Following this launch, Good Shepherd, a Cantonese-speaking congregation of 35-40 led by Evangelist Tom Lo, will meet regularly beginning February 17, 2013.
The group has been meeting for Bible study for two years as an evangelistic outreach ministry. About half of the congregation are seekers. So far one family and three adults have been baptized and others are preparing for baptism.
